About the Festival From its inception, the Ozark Mountain Country Band, Choral & Orchestra Festival has emphasized learning by being a non-competitive musical event. Held on the College of the Ozarks campus, the festival provides adjudicated based on individual group size and skill level. Adjudicators offer immediate critiques to help students improve their individual performance skills. A true highlight of the festival is being able to hear and see what other groups from across the country are accomplishing. The festival combines an educational experience with all the excitement of Branson. After the festival is over, your group can explore Branson’s theaters and attractions The festival format consists of one fifteen-minute performance. Each group provides three categories for the adjudicators to evaluate. Performances are scheduled every 30 minutes. A warm up room is provided 30 minutes prior to each group’s performance. Groups will receive an immediate verbal critique plus comment sheets, and a cassette recording made by the adjudicators during the performance. Trophies will be given to each group to commemorate their contribution to the festival The National Federation of State High School Associations has sanctioned the festival for the past several years. Application is pending for the 2009 festival.
